I haven’t posted much. I’ve been really busy with life and such. The only professional update I have is related to the Virginia Press Association awards (I won three :)). You can read about that here.
Above is a video I made for my neighbor’s band, The Lazy Man Dub Band. [...]

I made the crossover to print last week… it was a great slice of life piece!
The story was about local sword enthusiasts who collect antique swords and practice ancient swordplay techniques. And I’m not talking about fencing, I mean true midevil-knight style fighting. The group was known as the Roanoke Sword Guilde, and [...]

The title of this post basically sums it up. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, Cassell is home for the Virginia Tech men and women’s basketball teams and is VERY loud.
Since it was the men’s final home game Wednesday against NC State, fellow RT photographer Matt Gentry suggested I make the long, [...]

A not-so-new, yet revamped style of video has really caught my attention lately. It’s a mixture between home movies and an art film, but I like to call it street video.
Editing video is great when it’s only an in-point and out-point.

Although it looks like I’ve been slacking off in the video department lately, I’ve actually been finishing up this 2009 Year In Review video with co-worker Jordan Fifer. All in all, it took a solid month to complete … that’s with December/January vacations added to the equation.

While I was home for Thanksgiving, the final Under 21 article was published. This means that the entire project is finally complete! This includes 14 articles, four comprehensive graphics including a Roanoke Times’ survey of all 44 four-year Virginia universities and colleges, a vast collection of videos that includes a 15-minute overview video [...]

Well last week was truly crazy - from two days of election coverage to preparing for the final UNDER 21 series (to be published this Sunday Nov. 15) to covering the Morgan Harrington search in Charlottesville. An emotional week in terms of events, but the week was over before I could catch my breathe. [...]

It’s Wednesday but it feels like Friday - at least in terms of the hours I’ve put in already this week. It’s certainly been a political whirlwind.
Monday was spent with the nice people of the Bath County Registrar’s Office while yesterday was spent with the Roanoke Republicans (a victory party, to say the least). [...]

The search continues for missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, who vanished after a Metallica concert Oct. 17.
I produced this video last week of a vigil held for Harrington at Northside High School in Roanoke.
